Ancienne résidence de Louis-Joseph Papineau au sommet de sa carrière, ce bâtiment du Vieux-Montréal fut la cible, le 6 novembre 1837, d'une attaque du Doric Club contre les Patriotes — sans qu'ils puissent y pénétrer. Lieu historique national fermé; plaque commémorative visible.
